School Photos

These are some of the girls’ schools built and the teachers trained by Mehrgiti in the Provinces of Sistan and Balouchestan, Kurdestan, and Southern Khorasan.  Mehrgiti as of date has built and staffed about 400 schools and currently has contract to build another 120.

This is the first school built by Mehrgiti in 2003 in the Province of Sistan and Balouchestan. The original school, on the left, was a corral, with poor lighting and ventilation. It was utilized as a one-room  school building in the village. The image on the right is the modern school built in place of the corral.

The Knowledge Bridge.

Before this bridge was built by Mehrgiti, children crossed the river with a cable in order to reach their school site. The bridge over the Bakhtiari River in Lorestan Province provides safe and comfortable passage to their school. It is Mehrgiti’s philosophy that all barriers to education must be removed and education must be more than memorizing information. It must include skills that make for a world citizen.

The "Books for All" Project

Volunteers categorize the donated books based on subjects and ship them to the schools in the deprived, rural areas.

"PCs for All" Project

Donated second- hand personal computers are refurbished and supplied with educational applications before being shipped to the schools in the rural areas. Mehrgiti is keen on being environmentally responsible by reusing PCs instead of sending them to the landfilled.

Educational Support Committee

A group of retired teachers review and monitor students’ academic progress in the deprived areas. These students receive educational grants without which they would not be able to attend school and obtain their education.

Educators' Workshops

A sample of our workshops held for training the local teachers from the deprived areas. These workshops are interactive, utilizing ICTs and experiential activities that focus on grasping and imparting information and experiences.

The video clips below demonstrate educators being trained in acquiring motivational questioning techniques in order to stimulate their students’ intellect and talent.
